The Journey so far…

I really can’t put into words about this journey other than it has been amazing! I feel like I have a whole year to catch you all up on since I’m that girl that decided to start a blog at 8 months pregnant.

Lets start with a little background info that I’m sure you all want to know…

How I got here… Well for starters this is something I’ve had on my mind since I was 18/19 years old. I watched my step mother struggle to carry her babies and then lost her second child due to being born prematurely. That will just about kill anyone inside to watch. I instantly thought to myself, I wish I could carry a baby for you. Fresh out of high school with no thought of children for myself that is what I wanted to do. Obviously that didn’t happen so let’s fast forward to about 3 1/2 years ago…

When I had Colt, being my last child, this topic came up again. I applied and got all the info to start and quickly backed out. I wasn’t ready, my husband wasn’t ready, my 1 year old wasn’t ready. The timing was just not right. I didn’t want to put all of my energy and focus into this when I still had a 1 and a 2 year old that needed me. So we wait again…

finally fall of 2017 is when it started. I had just married Kyle, my children were a little older and more self sufficient, the timing was perfect. I applied in October, matched with someone in December, and flown to LA the first of January for all the medical testing and psych evaluation. There was so much stuff that happened between then and May when I was flown back out to LA again to actually have that embryo transfer done. A lot of legal stuff, preparing my body for this baby, lots and lots of medication.

So to get you all up to speed that is the fast version of this story.

The pregnancy itself has been like any other one, full of sickness, aches and pains but I wouldn‘t take it all back for anything.

stay tuned for more….
